US markets ended the week on a positive note despite the trade war tension between China & the US, while most of the regional indices ended the week in the negative territory.

For the week, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain were the top losers with losses of -1.4% each, followed by Abu Dhabi with a negative performance of -0.7%. Oman and Kuwait main indices were almost flat with -0.2% and -0.1%, respectively, for the week.

On the winning side, Egypt was the star performer with gains of +4.0% for the week, followed by Dubai with a positive performance of +0.9%.

Going forward, the trading activity within the MENA region is likely to remain subdued affected by the summer lull and investors’ sentiment being affected by the trade war tensions.
