The incidence of infertility is on the rise in Oman and in the Middle East, in general. Current research indicates that there are multiple causes, which are attributed to both female and male factors, leading to an increasing demand for infertility treatments in the region. By offering advanced scientific and diagnostic services, including Pre-implantation Genetic Testing in Oman, IVI Middle East aims to make a significant difference to pregnancy outcomes, increasing the likelihood of a healthy family and provide an overall positive impact on the Omani society.

As a leading provider of fertility services, IVI Middle East, being part of IVI RMA Global, is the world’s largest private group, exclusively devoted to Human Reproduction Technology. IVI Middle East, through scientific research, continuously works towards a better understanding of the challenges couples in the region face when starting a family and its possible solutions. Although some causes of infertility in the Middle East are identical to what is seen in other parts of the world, many challenges are patient specific, taking into consideration the genetic, geographical and ethnic background of the local population. Treatment demands a patient-tailored approach, including focus on improving the patient’s own individual response to the treatment provided.

IVI Middle East believes in sharing clinical knowledge and scientific progress in in the field of Reproductive Medicine within the Medical Community in Oman. The goal is to increase understanding, while ultimately improving patient care and helping the local population to address their growing fertility concerns.

This year, IVI Middle East Fertility Clinic, hosted their 3rd Annual Meeting at the Hormuz Grand Hotel, Muscat, on April 26, 2019. The workshop was titled, ‘Advance II - Advancing Fertility Knowledge in Oman: Principles & Practices in Infertility Management’.

The workshop was attended by the local and regional OB-GYN community, IVF Specialists, Embryologists and Technologists, Urologists, Family Practitioners, Nurses and Midwives to name a few. The workshop is accredited for 5.5 Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) Continuous Medical Education (CME) hours.

Following successful scientific events throughout the year with the IVI Middle East team, in several Wiliyats in Oman, this workshop continued its legacy to stimulate interest and educational commitment, giving an opportunity to network, providing access to the distinguished speakers.

“This year’s workshop focused on the best research findings and clinical practice; update on the steps to find the patient/couple’s specific cause of infertility; when to seek In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment rather than Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI), while benefitting the people of Oman, now and in the future,” said Prof Dr. Human Fatemi, Medical Director, IVI Middle East Clinics.
