Instagram have just launched two new ways to share in the moment on Instagram -- live video in Instagram Stories, and ephemeral photos and videos for group and 1:1 conversations in Direct. Both of these features share a similar goal: to give people the flexibility to capture and share all their moments in a fun, low-pressure way.

Live video in stories is a new way to connect and interact with your friends right now. When you're done, your live video disappears, so you can feel comfortable sharing what you want, anytime. Live video will begin testing today, and roll out to everyone over the coming weeks.

Instagram Direct already has more than 300 million people who use it every month. Now, with ephemeral photos and videos for group and 1:1 conversations, we're giving the community even more control over their private sharing. These new features in Direct will be available to everyone today.
