The GCC region continues to display its strong ties with Brazil as reflected in the USD 2,544.14 billion worth of imports from the Gulf recorded between Q1 and Q3 of 2015, according to the recent reviews of the Brazilian Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). In the same period, mineral fuel and oil were noted as the top imports amounting to a total of USD 1,751.03 billion. The positive trend showcases the steady trade relations between the two regions as well as Brazil and the Gulf’s vibrant and dynamic business landscape.

The Oman Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Al Jebal Al Hajariya Travel and Tourism (Husaak Adventures) has successfully concluded the Western Hajar mountain range trek, which was held recently in Muscat, Oman. The hike featured a total of 15 female representatives who have gathered together from across the GCC countries to conquer the summit of Jebel Shams. Standing at over 3 km above sea level, Jebel Shams is the highest peak in the GCC where the hikers stood to send a message of love and unity under the slogan “One Nation”.

DEWA receives 21 Requests for Qualification for 800MW 3rd project of Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received 21 Requests for Qualification (RFQs) from international energy companies and consortia for the 800MW 3rd project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. This comes shortly after His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the 2nd project of the Solar Park, which will be operational in April 2017. Last September, DEWA received 95 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from international energy companies. The project tender is expected to be released in January 2016.
