  • Al Rawdah brings farm life closer to Dubai schools for third year running

    Emirates Modern Poultry Co., also known as Al Rawdah, has brought its chick hatching outreach programme to more than 3,000 plus students in Dubai’s best schools for the third year running. The programme instils in students an appreciation of nature, and helps them learn about animal life and sustainable poultry rearing practices.

  • Alexandria University’s Faculty of Nursing endorses ICDL Health Information Systems Usage Certification

    The Faculty of Nursing of Alexandria University has agreed to endorse and teach the Health Information Systems Usage Certification programs by ICDL, the governing body and certification authority of the ICDL certificate programs developed in Egypt, to its staff as well as graduate and postgraduate students interns. The announcement was made during an official meeting held in Alexandria recently, 2015 between Prof. Dr. Maha Adel Salem, Dean of Alexandria University’s Faculty of Nursing, and Jamil Ezzo, Director General of ICDL Arabia. The Faculty of Nursing aims to empower its students and graduates with the latest information and communications technology (ICT) skills required in the health sector through the implementation of the new international program. The move complements today’s job market requirements, which does not only require proficiency in the common desktop applications but also across other skills like information security, online collaboration, project planning, social media, digital images, basic web design and use of information systems focused towards the health segment.

    Amadeus Gulf has partnered with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to bring quality education to children and young people living in underprivileged communities in developing countries, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. To mark this partnership, Amadeus will contribute towards the construction of a new community school in Senegal, enabling generations of children to benefit from quality education.

  • Amadeus School well underway following ground-breaking ceremony

    The Amadeus-funded School in Senegal is well underway following a recent ground-breaking ceremony organized in partnership with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Marking Amadeus Gulf’s 30th anniversary, four representatives from Amadeus Gulf along with other UAE-based volunteers travelled to Ngol Ngol village in Senegal to set the foundation of a new school adopted by Amadeus under the umbrella of Dubai Cares’ Adopt a School initiative. The volunteers joined members of the local community in activities that included digging, lifting, pumping water, mixing concrete, reinforcing steel bars, among others.
