The UAE’s largest nursery chain, British Orchard Nursery launched its 18th branch in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR). The new campus, located in Deira, Dubai, was inaugurated in the presence of H.E. Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and H.E. Shamsa Saleh, Secretary General of UAE Gender Balance Council. The Nursery aims to lessen the stress on working women, particularly the employees of FAHR, by taking the premium pre-school and nursery services to their doorstep.

A forerunner among pre-schools in terms of innovation and imparting quality education, British Orchard Nursery has partnered with a number of government divisions across UAE in order to ensure parents’ peace of mind while at work. The multi award-winning Nursery – a two-time recipient of the Woman-friendly Employer of the Year Award at the Global Women in Leadership Achievement awards – has been known for its women-friendly policies, and is constantly striving to create spaces in corporates where working mothers can leave their children in safe, accessible zones.

Commenting on the launch, Mr Ali Ahli, Director of Human Resources & Services Department, said: “We are keen to provide a positive working environment to support our employees and help them achieve balance between their professional and family life and enable them to carry out their tasks ”. He added that the Nursery provides an ideal educational environment for the children of employees and allows them to practice educational activities that develop their talents and enhance their creativity. He pointed out that the British Orchard Nursery environment meets the best standards in health and safety requirements.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, DrVandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery said: “I’d like to thank FAHR, for placing their trust in the nursery and partnering with us.  The UAE government has always been sensitive to the needs of its women employees and has designed policies with the aim to ease their concerns. The initiative of workplace nurseries by the government has met with huge success and British Orchard Nursery is proud to be contributing to UAE economy. We hope to work on such collaborations with many corporates in future as well.

“Women form a formidable chunk of the UAE workforce and have proved their value at their workplaces. However, many of them are mothers and it cannot be easy for them to leave their precious children in someone else’s care all day long. With initiatives like these, women have a win-win opportunity to be closer to their children, yet perform their best at work. We have ensured that the new nursery meets all the quality and educational standards that will make British Orchard Nursery a preferred childcare centre for parents residing in Deira. Being a working mom myself, I can totally relate to a mother’s concern, and we take various steps to relieve her stress, including online access to classroom CCTV cameras,” added Ms Vandana.

The British Orchard Nursery is the Middle East's first largest nursery chain to be ISO 14001, 18001 and ISO 9001 quality certified. British Orchard Training Centre offers UK certified and KHDA approved teacher and principal training courses. These include diplomas, online short- and long-term courses from the UK by highly experienced trainers with more than 25 years of experience in the field.Winner of local and international prestigious awards, the pre-school has been recognised for raising the benchmark and for its services to the education sector at various platforms.
