The region’s leading Performing Arts school, Dubai Performing Arts (DPA), is set to bring an explosion of Musical Theatre to Dubai Opera next weekend with two unmissable musical shows featuring music and performances from some of the most famous West End musicals.
Be prepared to get footloose and fancy free on Friday 28th June and Saturday 29th June as DPA’s Youth Theater Company presents two performances of the ‘must see’, high energy, rock n roll show, Footloose The Musical on the Dubai Opera stage.
Promising to have you singing and dancing in your seats, the exciting production of Footloose will bring exhilarating choreography, and will feature the show’s unforgettable soundtrack that includes well-loved hits such as Let’s Hear It For The Boys, Holding Out For A Hero and the title track, Footloose.
Pop star sensation and Principal of DPA Lisa Scott-Lee, said: “DPA’s Creative Director and Choreographer Johnny Shentall-Lee performed in the original West End cast of Footloose, so we thought it was very fitting to give our talented students the opportunity to perform the smash hit Musical at the prestigious Dubai Opera. Our students have loved having Master Classes with Johnny whilst learning all the famous dance moves to the hit songs, such as Holding Out For A Hero and Let’s Hear It For The Boys! It will be one not to miss.”
Not only that, for the second year running the talented performers of the DPA Academy will also be returning to the Dubai Opera stage to make musical fan’s dreams come true as they present the musical review, Where Stars Are Born, on 29th June.
For one afternoon only, prepare to experience live singing, dancing, drama and musical theatre from Dubai’s leading young performers who will be performing recitals from some of the most loved, classical musicals of all time such as Mamma Mia, Chorus Line, Hairspray, Rock of Ages and Mary Poppins. Perfect for all the family, the audience can expect to sing along to the much-loved hits such as, Here I Go Again On my Own, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and Abba’s infectious and timeless tunes including, I Have A Dream and Mamma Mia!
