The Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary Fourth Edition – the essential dictionary for upper-intermediate to advanced learners of English – is now available to Mac users as an App. The dictionary contains over 140,000 words, phrases, meanings and examples as well as British and American English pronunciation. Every entry has thesaurus sections that show related words, phrases and synonyms for each meaning, helping you to expand your English knowledge.

The International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2019) will launch the first ever Researchers Platform offering information and academic content related to government communication, during its upcoming edition, slated to take place on March 20–21, at Expo Centre Sharjah.

NYU Abu Dhabi researchers have found that the availability of both visual and haptic information for a target object significantly improves reach-to-grasp actions, demonstrating that the nervous system utilizes both types of information to optimize movement execution. The findings are featured in the journal Nature: Scientific Reports.

In keeping with its dedication to making learning and knowledge consumption more suitable and accessible to visually impaired children, Kalimat Foundation for Children’s Empowerment (KF)’s ARA initiative has presented a collection of 1,100 Arabic language learning materials to the visually impaired students at Al Noor school, Kuwait.

The Amadeus-funded School in Senegal is well underway following a recent ground-breaking ceremony organized in partnership with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Marking Amadeus Gulf’s 30th anniversary, four representatives from Amadeus Gulf along with other UAE-based volunteers travelled to Ngol Ngol village in Senegal to set the foundation of a new school adopted by Amadeus under the umbrella of Dubai Cares’ Adopt a School initiative. The volunteers joined members of the local community in activities that included digging, lifting, pumping water, mixing concrete, reinforcing steel bars, among others.
