St. Mary’s Group of Schools held a ground breaking ceremony on Thursday, May 10, 2018 to mark the beginning of the construction of St. Mary’s High School in Ras Al Khaimah, its sixth school within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in the Khalifa Bin Zayed City area of Ras Al Khaimah, the new school will offer a British curriculum from the Foundation Stage (FS) to A-level, with a capacity of nearly 1,800 students.

On Saturday, April 28, 2018, IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) held its annual Middle East Student Case Competition in Dubai, UAE. Four student teams from the Prince Sultan University (PSU) in Riyadh, KSA, the American University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Lebanon and the German Jordanian University competed in the final round.

According to a new report today by The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), entitled ‘Where to Invest Now in the GCC Private Education’, the UAE’s private K-12 education market valued at $4.4 billion in 2017 is poised to grow to $7.1 billion by 2023. Across the GCC, the private education market is becoming a magnet for investors, and rightly so, as it is expected to double over the next five years. Despite the fact that strong growth has been predicted across the region, investors must fine-tune their strategies to account for the shifting circumstances before committing to an investment opportunity.

NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Class of 2018 student Yousteena Bocktor, 21,  from Egypt, has been selected as a 2018 Al Ghurair STEM Scholar, which supports young Arabs pursuing fields in higher education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). She will pursue a Master of Engineering with a concentration in Transportation Engineering from McGill University in Canada.
