Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, an affiliate of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA), recently held workshops on sustainable art and craft for children and youth at ‘The Festival at Masdar City’ featured during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2019 (ADSW).

The Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series (Dubai Open), an 18-goal handicap competition celebrating its 10th year anniversary under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, launched its 2019 season on Monday, 21 January 2019 where the organizing committee conducted a live draw for the Silver Cup 2019 fixture at the Habtoor Ballroom, Habtoor Palace, LXR Hotels & Resorts.

To preserve the environment and nurture a culture of recycling amongst community members, Al Qasba, in cooperation with Bee’ah and the Indian Association Sharjah announced ‘Recyclathon Run 2019’, a 3km run set to take place in Al Qasba on 25 January at 8:00 a.m., which aims to educate the young generation about the proper ways of recycling, in an entertaining and educational activity.

HE Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg, President of the Dubai Business Women Council and Managing Director of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, stated that a growing population of well-educated youth that have already adopted new digital and mobile technology in the Middle East and North Africa region, especially among the region’s female population, have immense potential to drive future growth and job creation in the region. She pointed out that innovative and disruptive technologies such as Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transforming global trade by boosting efficiency of cross-border transactions and eliminating trade barriers. She stressed that the Fourth Industrial Revolution we are witnessing will lead to future growth, and we need to keep pace with this transformation in order to reach sustainable development.
