Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qasimi, First Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated the events of Ramadan Nights Exhibition hosted by Expo Center Sharjah, running from June 15 to June 30, among the events of the 28th " Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2017".

After the inauguration, Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qasimi toured the exhibition. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Khaled Jassem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, H.E. Walid Abdulrahman Boukhatir, Second Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Chamber, some members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, H.E. Khaled bin Buti Al Hajri, Director- General of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, and Ibrahim Rashid Al Jaran, Head of the Economic Relations and Marketing Department in Sharjah Chamber and Coordinator of Sharjah Ramadan Festival, and many representatives from the business community and social and media personalities. 

The event attracted over 200 local and foreign exhibitors this season. Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qasimi inspected the pavilions and products on show, featuring a selection of the most important national and international brand names in the retail business.

Following the inspection tour, Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qasimi stressed the determination of the Emirate of Sharjah to pursue sustainable development at all social and economic levels and to consolidate the status of Sharjah as a leading and outstanding destination for living, tourism, and business.

Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qasimi said that the Sharjah Chamber is keen to support and develop the events and exhibition industry and promote its competitiveness. He also highlighted the excellent participation in the event, attributing the success to the effective management and organization. Al Qasimi also highlighted the quality products on show at the event, supported by excellent offers and promotions that would help families and consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the exhibition lasts over 16 days this season, and it is considered the largest of its kind, with showrooms spread over the entire area the Expo Center Sharjah. The festival commemorates the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, and it is characterized by an exceptional joyful atmosphere, tempting offers, and enticing discounts up to 80%.

H. E. Khaled Jassem Al-Madfaa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority,affirmed that tourism development is a strategic priority for the Emirate of Sharjah, which has succeeded in consolidating its position on the international tourism map. He also said that it continues to develop the tourism sector and raise the visits rates for the Emirate of Sharja who want to take advantage of the unique privileges that Sharjah enjoys at more than one level.

Al-Midfa noted the eagerness of the Tourism Development Authority to cooperate with various government agencies in Sharjah, above all the Sharjah Chamber and Expo Center Sharjah, in unifying the visions and combining the efforts to develop the tourism industry and to reach a comprehensive renaissance in various sectors.

Al-Midfa pointed out that the Tourism Development Authority has helped attract six leading tourism companies to participate in the exhibition, including “Arab Airlines.” He also stressed the importance of such companies’ participation, especially with the start of the summer vacations when people start looking for various travel packages, including travel, accommodation, transportation, etc.

In his turn, H.E. Saif Mohammed Al-Midfa, CEO of the Expo Center Sharjah, thanked Sheikh Majid bin Faisal Al Qasimi, First Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Chamber, for honouring the opening of the exhibition. He praised the unlimited support of Sharjah Chamber for all events organized and hosted by Expo Center Sharjah. He also thanked all the partners who contributed to the successful launch of Ramadan Nights Festival.

He also stressed that Ramadan Nights Festival has proved its stature and importance for the retail sector as well as for a large slice of people who rallied at the gates of the center, waiting for the events to start. He also noted that this year's exhibition, unlike previous seasons, features a bundle of business offers and services that meet the needs of families and shoppers looking for the best discounts or wishing to spend good and happy times in the restaurants and cafes that are participating in the event.

Promotions and Heritage

The event attracted massive audience in its first day, boosting sales at participating retailers’ pavilions to surpass expectations. Visitors were also amazed by a special raffle draw they will take part in by virtue of their visit, where they could win a prestigious Nissan Patrol 2017. Good and products on show include gifts, new products, perfumes, cosmetics, children's products and toys, costumes, jewelry, etc.

The 500-square-meter "Heritage Village” has attracted a wide range of visitors. Many people expressed their admiration of the heritage symbols, old seats, Ramadan cannon, antiques, and traditional costumes and clothes that express the originality of the Emirates past.
