In a Media Event held at PSM today, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) holds the official signing ceremony of the 2nd Edition of the Adventures of Maldives, a Facebook Video competition held in partnership with Red Bull. Adventures of Maldives is co-sponsored by Euro Store and Tech Street.



This event is launched through PSM coverage and the Media Event was officially opened by the Acting Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Mr. Haris Mohamed.

During the ceremony Mr Haris Mohamed stated “The 2nd Edition of Adventure of Maldives will provide a platform that fascinates and encourages both locals and tourists to share the adventurous side of Maldives. This would also be great opportunity for people to see the first hand experiences of Maldives hence attract more visitors to the destination.”

The Media Event was attended by all the sponsors, event partners and senior officials of the Ministry of Tourism, Board Members and officials of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). Agreements were signed with the title sponsor of this competition, Red Bull, and co-sponsors Euro Marketing Pvt. Ltd & Techstreet Pvt. Ltd. Additional were also signed with partners of this competition including the Media Partner (PSM), Digital Media Partner (Maldives.net) and Printing Partner (DhiPrint).

The Adventures of Maldives (Dhivehi Aahitha) aims to showcase personally shot video clips of locals and tourists engaging in adventurous activities in Maldives. This will have a positive impact on promotional value to the Maldives as a tourist destination itself. This co-promotional marketing activity was initiated in the year 2017. Adventures of Maldives has been defined as conventional adventure related activities in the Maldives such as scuba diving, island excursions, festivals, free diving, surfing, snorkeling, watersports, etc. and also as unconventional adventure related activities in the Maldives.

The prize money set for the winners of this competition is set to receive over MVR 120,000. Top 10 videos selected after judging which will also be featured on the officer YouTube Channel of MMPRC (Visit Maldives) and endorsed on other social and online media channels of MMPRC (Visit Maldives) as well as International Travel and Trade Fairs.

In October / November 2017, a total number of 46 videos were submitted to The Adventures of Maldives Facebook Competition 2017. The competition received vast popularity on Facebook, receiving over 80k views for the most watched video. The videos that received the most likes and views were qualified and judged by an independent board who nominated the winner and the top 10 videos of the competition, were the top contestant received a total of MVR 100,000 as prize money.

The videos can be submitted through www.visitmaldives.com/adventures from the 26th of October 2018 till 2pm of the 26th of November 2018. The voting period will take place from the 28th of November 2018 till 2pm of the 4th of December 2018. The judging process will take place from the 10th – 12th of December 2018 and the prizes will be disseminated to the winners during the second week of December 2018.
