After an event-packed January, EMAC continued the dialogues at the second Breakfast Session, discussing updates on the new draft UAE Maritime Law on 18th February at its DIFC offices.

Presented by Kirsty Cattanach, Senior Associate of Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla, the seminar provided insights around the updates of the new draft of the UAE Maritime Law, including new definitions and some key new concepts, marine investments, registration processes and regulations around insurance.

“February was yet another fruitful month for the Centre. We are very pleased to pick up the conversation around the new draft UAE Maritime Law, which we believe will be of utmost significance to the maritime industry. It is without a doubt a milestone step in reiterating the country’s objective to create a reliable and amicable seat for arbitration”, said Mr. Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Acting Chairman and Secretary General, EMAC.

The first quarter of 2019 will continue to see EMAC participate at the Dubai International Boat Show, taking place between 26 February – 2 March, as well as the next ‘Breakfast with EMAC’ seminar taking place on 18th March at their DIFC offices, discussing cargo contamination cases.
