The Ministry of Environment and Water organized ‘Quinoa Open Day’ at Agriculture Innovation Center (AIC) in the Agriculture Innovation Center, Al Dhaid, Sharjah. The event was attended by the Consul of the Republic of Peru, H.E. Carlos Tegara, and was organized in cooperation with the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, United Arab Emirates University, Food Security Centre – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Farmer's Services Center, and private sector companies interested in the production of feeds and seeds, poultry and cattle.

The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) recently held a comprehensive workshop for various governmental and non-governmental bodies and companies working in the UAE’s maritime sector to discuss the best practices in international arbitration and the working mechanisms of the "Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC).” The session, which was attended by H.E. Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Land and Maritime Transport in the UAE, highlighted the importance of specialized maritime arbitration in the UAE in light of increasing maritime disputes and stiff competition in international trade.

H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led other high-level government officials in the inauguration of the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The opening ceremony was also attended by numerous university heads, school principals and hundreds of visitors and high school students. Taking place until April 17, 2015, this year’s three-day exhibition is expected to attract over 35,000 visitors.
