Legendary American rock band, The Killers brought down the curtain on night 4 of the Yasalam 2019 After – Race Concerts as they gave an unforgettable performance to a full house of spectators and music lovers on Sunday 1st December at du Arena.

The multi-award-winning rockers from Las Vegas, Nevada opened their concert to an electrifying start with ‘Jenny Was A Friend of Mine’ followed smash hit ‘Spaceman’ which was met with a chorus of cheers that echoed around du Arena.

Continuing their epic performance, the band worked their way through a catalogue of brilliant classics including ‘Somebody Told Me’, ‘Smile Like You Mean It’, and ‘Runaway’ with each track seeing fans belt back each and every syllable to the stars on stage, testament to the band’s broad appeal.

In what was undoubtably an otherworldly moment for one lucky mega fan, front man  Brendan Flowers pulled him out of the crowd and onto the drum set, where in front of a full arena he gave the performance of a lifetime - drawing cheers from the crowd worthy of the most famous rock star. Describing the moment, young drummer Ash recounted that he “couldn’t even remember what happened on stage”, and that it was the time of his life.

As the hits continued, fan favourite ‘When We Were Young’ suggested the set was coming to a close as the energy within the arena reached fever point, yet the stars had more to give, going on to perform smash hit ‘Human’ and closing with an inimitable rendition of ‘Mr Brightside’ which saw an eruption of energy and signified that The Killers had indeed, absolutely exceeded expectations and ‘killed it’.

Opening the stage for The Killers was a British DJ and production duo Hollaphonic, who fired up the eager crowd with their dance tunes. Composed of Greg Stainer and Olly Wood, they were the first dance music duo to be signed to a major record label in the Middle East.

Ahead of this in The Village, newly crowned ETC winner Xenai took to the stage for the second time this weekend, this time wearing the well-deserved crown of Emerging Talent Competition 2019 champion after battling it out against two other talented performers on Thursday night.
