The fifth edition of the Mother of the Nation festival, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), is set to celebrate the innovation, creativity, and traditions of the UAE in six thrilling zones from March 26 until April 4 on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche.

The festival, which celebrates the family unit and the contributions of women in the region, will mark the year 2020 by underscoring the legacy of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union and President of the Supreme Council of Motherhood and Childhood.

Visitors to the festival will enjoy a whole host of diverse activity zones which will entertain and delight families and individuals from all backgrounds.

“The annual Mother of the Nation festival provides a platform to celebrate the visionary who has contributed so significantly to the UAE - HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak – and for the 2020 edition, we are honouring her legacy through an event that combines heritage with contemporary culture, fusing global flavours with the hospitality and culture of the Emirates for a distinctive and compelling event that will engage the whole community,” said HE Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Acting Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi.

For 2020, the Mother of the Nation festival will welcome visitors to six zones that celebrate family, youth and women under distinct themes: Inspire, Explore, Nurture, Entertain, Indulge, and Amuse:

·         Inspire: a heritage and environment area that pays tribute to traditional and modern culture in the UAE
