As a tribute to the healthcare workers on the frontlines of the battle against the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, and marking World Health Day, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah (Sajaya), an affiliate of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, is offering a 20 percent discount on membership fees to all young ladies aged 13 – 18 years who have a parent working in the healthcare sector in any capacity.

HRH Princess Lamia Bint Majed Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud, has been appointed as the first ever Regional Goodwill Ambassador for the Arab States by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) during a press conference at the tenth session of the World Urban Forum. UN-Habitat works in over 90 countries, supporting people in cities and human settlements for a better urban future.

The Pearl Initiative, the leading non-profit organisation working to promote increased transparency and corporate governance practices across the Gulf Region, has been awarded special consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), making it the first private non-profit based in the UAE to be granted such status.
