The Ministry of Finance organized the inaugural ‘Youth Innovates’ event at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, which focused on celebrating and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovative thinking within the youth community.

The event was organized as part of the UAE’s Innovation Month initiative, to create a supportive environment for innovation through realizing the National Innovation Strategy objectives, with the aim of supporting the UAE’s goals of becoming one of the world’s leading innovative countries.

The central theme of the event was based around preparing children for the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), offering the children who attended the opportunity to learn the basics of coding through gaming, as well as building their own mobile application.

Innovation Month 2018 builds on the resounding successes achieved during UAE Innovation Week in 2017, which saw more than 1,250 innovative activities organised across the UAE, and was subsequently extended to a month-long celebration by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
