Amer Ali, Executive Director, Dubai Maritime City Authority, said: “The inaugural Middle East Offshore Journal Conference held last year was highly effective in initiating a dialogue regarding the challenges faced by the Middle East’s offshore support sector. DMCA is participating in the conference for the second time as its Platinum Sponsor because the conference’s objectives complement its Maritime Sector Strategy which is aimed at positioning Dubai as the leading international maritime center. The conference will be a wonderful occasion for us to interact with global industry experts and stakeholders, while also holding brainstorming sessions about innovative solutions, best practices and the latest trends in the global industry. In addition, it will also give us the opportunity to promote Dubai as an exceptionally attractive maritime destination investment haven for maritime support activities.”

Following a successful debut last year, the second edition of the event will be an opportunity for the offshore support sector to gather together to focus on the current regional and global issues affecting the industry as well as network with other industry leaders.

The 2nd Middle East Offshore Journal Conference will be a mix of commercial and operational sessions focused on the region’s key business priorities. The key topics to be discussed include ‘Market Analysis - Impact of the Oil Price Trend on Current and Future Projects. How Ship-owners are Responding to the Situation,’ ‘Raising Capital - Financing Strategies for New Build and Fleet Upgrades,’ ‘Innovation in Design - Developments in OSV Designs and New Technology. How More Advanced Vessels Can Be Operated Efficiently,’ ‘Shipbuilding, Repair and Maintenance - Local Shipyards’ Activity in Designing and Building OSVs,’ ‘New Vessel Technology - Case Studies on How New Technology Reduces Operating Costs,’ ‘Regional Updates - Opportunities in Shallow Water and Offshore Fields in Africa, Caspian Sea, Mediterranean and Red Seas, and ‘Successful Overseas Operations. The current edition of the Middle East Offshore Journal Conference will be a platform for the offshore support industry, including leading ship owners, ship builders, oil and gas operators, financiers, designers, suppliers, and OEMs to discuss ways to improve efficiency and safety in the industry and the latest advances in technology. The last year’s conference received positive feedback from participants who were impressed by its interactive and open-discussion format where they debated on issues such as market trends, crewing and training, vessel design and construction, vessel performance, energy efficiency, dynamic positioning, and new opportunities.

Ali concludes: “Dubai’s strategic location, good reputation, and leading position in the regional maritime sector have enabled it to host highly successful and internationally renowned marine conferences. The 2nd Middle East Offshore Journal Conference following a highly successful debut last year reiterates our commitment to host international companies operating in the global offshore support sector. We are confident that this year too, participants will be enlightened with industry-leading discussions and solutions.”
