The Ministry of Environment and Water has revealed that it has successfully completed linking with the UAE Electronic Federal Network (FEDnet), the country’s first electronic network that connects 42 federal entities with each other—offering IT services at a reduced cost combined with high levels of security and efficiency. FEDnet falls in line with the mGovernment initiative, which seeks to create the necessary national infrastructure to enable the provision of all government services via mobile platforms.

Oman’s Ministry of Tourism announced its new projects to develop luxurious hotels in order to address the rising numbers of guest arrivals as well as the booming local tourism industry. The announcement was made during the Arabian Travel Market show, and came as a positive indicator of the rapidly expanding tourism sector within the Sultanate. The trade exhibition provided an upright platform for the Ministry of tourism to showcase the recent luxurious hotel openings to various travel agents, thus providing a precious additional tool to aid in selling the destination to potential visitors.

Dubai Courts has opened a new centre for notary public services in Al Barsha Mall as part of its strategic objectives to enable customers to efficiently complete their transactions by saving time and efforts in accessing judicial and legal services across Dubai. The new centre is a testament to the court’s active efforts to enhance customer satisfaction and community welfare, as per the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.


Within its framework to ensure the implementation of federal legislation related to the environment, including legislation and regulations for cement plants, the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water recently conducted daytime and nighttime field inspections of all operational cement plants. The move forms part of the efforts of the Ministry’s External Audit Sector to achieve the targets of the national agenda under UAE Vision 2021, with a special focus on environmental protection and sustainability. Moreover, the visits were in line with the Ministry’s strategic goals such as promoting environmental sustainability.

The UAE Ministry of Environment and Water has called upon all individuals, institutions and companies working in the environment and wildlife sector to participate in the Gulf Cooperation Council Award for the Environment and Wildlife. The award aims to encourage individual and collective initiatives undertaken to preserve the environment and wildlife, inspiring innovation and creativity to contribute towards sustainable development while raising awareness among GCC countries.
