The Sharjah Department of Government Relations (DoGR) recently received HE Fletcher Tabuteau, New Zealand’s Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, along with Paul Ballantyne, Deputy Ambassador of New Zealand to the UAE. They discussed Sharjah–New Zealand relations and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

Dubai Customs always provides support to the maritime sector towards a more diversified economy in line with the Dubai Plan 2021. This helps in facilitating trade in different ports including Dubai Creek, which may not be the city’s most important trading port anymore but it will always be a very important route of trade for dhows at the heart of Dubai. Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) donated AED1 million to Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital to support the hospital’s advanced scientific research in pediatrics, help families of patients, and provide an integrated social safety network.

Yesterday, the Chinese Special Olympic Team were greeted by words of encouragement by His Excellency Dr. Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the People's Republic of China. A small ceremony marked the team’s departure to the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi, held at the Guangzhou People with Determination Sports Center, and also attended by His Excellency Rahma Abdulrahman Alshamsi, UAE Consulate General from Guangzhou, and Ms. Zhao Su Jing, Deputy Director of the Athletes Delegation.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) unanimously named Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding, and the Executive Chairman of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) and the scientific board (DISAB), as the goodwill ambassador making him the first non-member personality to be given this title. This was followed by the unanimous vote of the members of the Assembly during the 13th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean in Belgrade, Serbia.
