A new report from ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has called for governments, public sector entities and the accounting profession to work together to assist in the implementation of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) around the world.

Arabia CSR Network, the Middle East region’s leading training service provider and think tank, organized a successful Materiality Matrix Workshop in Dubai as part of its continuing move to help today's companies and organizations on how to design, develop and implement a successful CSR/sustainability strategy. The event was attended by participants that play an important role in their organization's CSR and sustainability initiatives and also by individuals wanting to learn more about how to prioritize CSR issues and align them to a complementing business strategy.

The list of winners of Arabia CSR Network’s 10th Arabia CSR Awards, the latest edition of the Arab region’s premier Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability accolade, were officially revealed during the awarding ceremony held in Dubai. The event was attended by senior government officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives from various organisations and leading sustainability champions, which included His Excellency (H.E.) Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, President, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Department of Civil Aviation. According to the Middle East region’s leading training service provider and think tank, the winners in the Awards’ 10 categories were chosen out of the 106 submitted entries from across the region. They stood out for demonstrating outstanding CSR leadership and commitment and for actively pursuing CSR in the Arab region.

In continuation of its youth development and empowerment approach, NAMA Center, one of Qatar Foundation for Social Work’s (QFSW) affiliated Centers, has signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to develop the youth programs provided by the Center. The signing ceremony was held at NAMA Center’s headquarters, where the Center’s Acting Executive Manager Ms. Maryam Bint Abdullatif Al-Mannai signed the agreement on behalf of NAMA, while the UNFPA Director for the Arab States Regional Office Dr. LuayShabaneh signed on behalf of the United Nations Fund.

As part of its participation in the "Health and Tourism 2017" campaign organized by the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah under the theme "Let's Walk", Friends of Kidney Patients association recently organized an awareness initiative at Al- Majaz waterfront in Sharjah entitled "Water Activity".
