Alfardan Group has announced a donation of QAR 300,000 to the Qatar Red Crescent Society to help the citizens of Yemen. Mr Wael Jamal, Head of Corporate HR, Alfardan Group handed the donation to Mr Saed Shaeen Al Kaabi, Head of Resource Mobilization, Qatar Red Crescent Society; in a private ceremony held recently at Alfardan Towers.

The World Free Zones Organization (World FZO), the not-for-profit association for free zones around the world, today announced the appointment of Abdulla Qassem as Deputy CEO.

In the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, a new project has been launched by the Pink Caravan and Sharjah Media Corporation called Caravan, the first state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit in the UAE.

It costs 15 million AED and the aim is to give free breast cancer early detection screenings throughout the year.

The Pink Caravan Ride wrapped up its 10 day awareness campaign today after screening more than 5000 people across all seven Emirates in the UAE. The initiative, a pan-UAE breast cancer awareness drive by the Friends of Cancer Patients charity (FoCP), has now screened approximately 35000 men and woman of all nationalities since its inception five years ago.

The nationwide horseback trek covered 243km offering free breast cancer examinations to 5,000 male and female Emirati citizens and expatriates, bringing the total number of people examined to over 35,000 men and women of various nationalities and ages, over five years.
