Zulekha Hospital’s ‘Pink It Now’ breast cancer campaign has attracted 7,600 women to attend the free screenings and consultations in its hospitals to-date. The campaign launch was attended by His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami, Director General of Dubai Health Authority; Brig. Dr. Ali Singel, Director of Dubai Police Health Center; Captain Expert Anoud Saadi, Chairman of the Women's Police Council; Ms. Maha Bastaki  - Director of Cultural Office of Her Highness Sheikha Manal; Ms. Ghanima Al Bahri - Care and Social Services Director, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children; Dr. Layla Marzouqi - Director of Medical Tourism Council, DHA; Vikas Attri – CEO Lifestyle, Landmark Group; and other esteemed guests.

As per the findings of a local study revealed earlier this year, cardiac diseases account for over two-thirds of all deaths and is the biggest killer in the UAE. Hence, on the occasion of World Heart Day and with the aim to generate increased awareness on the cardiac health, RAK Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah is conducting a “Heart Health Camp” on Sep 29 from 9 am – 5 pm at the their premises.

Growing numbers of people in the UAE complain of joint problems as the main reason for seeking treatment. For some, even day to day activities like walking or taking a small flight of stairs can be a tedious activity causing excruciating pain in the knee. Most resort to non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, vitamins, physical therapy or cortisteroid injections to ease the pain – these however do not relieve the pain in the long run.
