With the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, a large number of NEXtCARE members are now opting for video consultations through the Teleconsultation feature in their MyNEXtCARE app. The company was the first to launch this service in 2019. The consultations are provided by Health at Hand - a DHA licensed telehealth service provider with qualified doctors who speak English, Hindi and Arabic.

The Health Promotion Department, HPD, of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) and its health-supporting associations recently revealed outstanding outcomes in terms of delivering their awareness-raising messages to community members, as part of the HPD’s commitment to the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah and the precautionary measures adopted by the UAE government to battle the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

As the pandemic continuously unfolds, we have collectively endured loss, but there are also opportunities for many of us to learn and grow. With people self-isolating and social distancing encouraged by governments, people have begun to revert their focus back into the things that are most important – families, friends and most especially, ourselves. In little and big ways, the rise of COVID-19 has also given rise to positive shifts in how we relate to ourselves and to each other and we should make the most of that.
