Dubai, United Arab Emirates; March 18, 2015:  Tashkeel, the non-profit independent contemporary art organisation in Dubai, is looking for UAE-based designers, makers and artisans to join the third edition of its Design Programme, starting May 2015.

Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Urban Planning Council, in presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority “Shurooq” Inaugurated yesterday Zero Exhibition at 1971 Gallery Space, multi-functional design space dedicated to exhibition, display and discussion on all forms of contemporary design ranging from graphic, furniture to interior as well as interactive design and new technologies.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development today inaugurated on Thursday, the activities of the 20th cultural convoy today inn the Red Island area in Ras Al Khaimah, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, under the slogan ( Our Society Our Responsibility)

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development released the result of the “Distinguished University Award” launched in collaboration with UAE universities as part of the 43rd National Day celebrations, students from all universities participated, the award included three fields; providing the best idea for celebrating the country's National Day, the best heritage uniform and the best painting on Arabic calligraphy.

Groundbreaking eco-exhibition in partnership with Bee’ah inaugurates gallery

Maraya Art Centre, the innovative contemporary visual arts hub in Sharjah, has announced the launch of 1971, a new design gallery, the first and only of its kind in Sharjah at The Flag Island. 1971 is a non-profit experimental design hub dedicated to exhibiting, displaying, and stimulating discussion around all forms of contemporary design – from graphic, furniture to interiors as well as interactive design and new technologies. The goal of 1971 is to be a regional and international design hub in the UAE that works closely with local designers, architects, schools and universities, to present a contemporary and cutting-edge mix of curated exhibitions and public programmes.
