Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated entity for heritage, arts and culture, has successfully wrapped up its ‘Reading Corner’ installation at the 2016 edition of Modhesh World. The ‘Reading Corner’ by Dubai’ Culture’s Centre of Studies and Research, focused on inspiring children and young adults from across Dubai to pick up a book and read over the summer period, and included an extensive array of books and magazines written for children in both English and Arabic.

Dubai resident and Malaysian entrepreneur owned Zen Productions’ FoodAddict, premieres on Zee Middle East on September 3, 2016. FoodAddict is the first TV show in the Middle East, promoting Malaysian cuisine in the region. The show aims at catering to 25 million multicultural tourist arrivals in Malaysia every year, which is home to a distinctive palette and a tapestry of flavours.

Taking a voyage into the UAE’s past, Wednesdays at the Warehouse programme presents a compelling mix of activities this Ramadan, aimed at performing arts enthusiasts and families. ‘The Journey of the Pearl’ live performance will reinterpret pearling stories from the UAE’s heritage on 15th June 2016 from 8.30 pm to 10 pm at Warehouse 421, while on 29th June 2016 between 4 pm to 6 pm, families can participate in a guided boat-building workshop to create their own structure.  

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a range of activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan at the Reading is Positive Energy exhibition. These include lectures, seminars, poetry readings, awareness sessions, and other activities for anyone. DEWA launched the year-long exhibition last month in collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, at Zabeel Park. The move is part of DEWA’s efforts to support the directives of the wise leadership that 2016 is the Year of Reading.

The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is pleased to announce its exciting new 2016-2017 Season: Excellence in Diversity. As the Royal Opera House Muscat celebrates its Fifth Anniversary on the 12th of October 2016 and commences its sixth year of operation, the ROHM will continue to offer a wide range of top quality Omani, Arab and international productions in many different genres – opera, ballet, concerts, jazz, musical, world music as well as shows from Oman, the region and around the world, along with special events, including productions designed specifically for the enjoyment families. This rich diversity of programs has become a hallmark of the Royal Opera House Muscat that is recognised all over the world. The new Season will commence on September 29th, 2016 with Roméo et Juliette, a poetic opera by French composer Charles Gounod (1818-1893) based on Shakespeare’s classic play and performed by the prestigious Opéra de Monte-Carlo.
