20 children from around the world including the UAE have wrapped up a two-week long camp at Manchester City’s football campus in the UK, thanks to the direct selling company, QNET.

As part of QNET’s 20th year anniversary and in recognition of the Year of Zayed, the company sent 20 children of different nationalities and different backgrounds to the City Football Language School at the Etihad campus in Manchester, UK.

The school is designed to teach children the English language while improving their skills and abilities as footballers at one of the best sports training facilities in the world. The course included 30 hours of football and 30 hours of English language training, as well as weekend excursions, behind the scenes tours of the Etihad Stadium and experiences of life as a professional footballer.

One of the children, Dimas Djati Pangestu from Rusunawa Pulogebang in East Jakarta, said: “I am proud to be selected from amongst hundreds of children from Indonesia to join City Football & Language School in Manchester, England. QNET gave me the opportunity to develop my capabilities through professional training from world-class trainers, and interact with many other talented players from different countries. I had never imaged this would happen, it’s a dream come true.”

QNET CEO, Trevor Kuna, said: “After two decades of success, we wanted to give something to the future generation as a company. So, to celebrate our 20th anniversary we decided that sending 20 young budding footballers to the fantastic City Football Language School would be an excellent and exemplary way to exhibit all that QNET believes in and stands for. This exercise would raise them by helping improve their English and football skills, and their love for the game, which in turn will assist them to raise others when they go back to their countries.”

The 20 children who took part were predominantly from the Middle East including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Syria.
