It was a delightful Eid Al Fitr for children at two hospitals of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) - Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Al Mafraq Hospital, as the iconic characters from Yas Waterworld stopped by to celebrate with them on the joyous occasion. Dana and Sultan, the main characters of the Emirati-themed waterpark’s ‘Legend of the Lost Pearl’, spread laughter and happiness among the hospital’s youngest patients while surprising them with presents on behalf of the Yas Waterworld team during the visit.

With a commitment to giving back to their community, Yas Waterworld is visiting hospitalized children for the second year in a row. This is the latest in a number of community-centric initiatives undertaken by the park, along with participating in Earth Hour and educating young Cub Scouts during a visit. Previously, the waterpark also teamed up with Make-a-Wish foundation for their popular Duck Race, where all donations went towards the foundation.

Yas Waterworld is also gearing up to be the ultimate family destination this summer, with characters from Iftah Ya Simsim, the popular Arabic version of Sesame Street, set to keep children entertained. The summer party continues with live music from DJs, along with interactive games for the entire family to take part in such as ping pong, a limbo competition and ‘minute to win it’ timed contests. The Eid season also sees the park extending their operation hours, as it will now remain open till 8pm during weekdays, and 10pm during weekends.

About Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi:

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, the only Emirati-themed waterpark in the world, is inspired by the UAE’s rich heritage of pearl diving through its unique story of ‘The Legend of the Lost Pearl’. The UAE’s first mega waterpark is home to 45 exhilarating rides, slides and attractions – five of which can be found nowhere else in the world. With rides and experiences on offer to thrill both the young and the young at heart, the waterpark plays host to Dawwama – the world’s first hydro-magnetic tornado waterslide, as well as the globe’s first interactive water and laser rollercoaster, Bandit Bomber.

Now in its fourth year of operations, the park has been awarded over 17 industry awards and accolades, including being ranked #4 in the Leisure & Entertainment Category in the 2015 YouGov BrandIndex UAE BestBrand Rankings, as well as the 2015 Travelers’ Choice Award by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site for the second consecutive year. It has also enticed a number of A-List celebrities through its fortress-like doors.

Yas Waterworld is managed and operated by Farah Experiences, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based Miral Asset Management LLC.
