The UAE prides itself as a world class destination to enjoy the sun and its beautiful beaches. To explore more of its good-looking people Blue Ink Beachwear and model agency Recto Verso Models have teamed up to find the face for the next campaign to encourage women to flaunt their curves in style.


The initiative will draw emphasis on women who often don’t find their size of beachwear and skip the fun entirely due to feeling pressured of certain body types.

 “We designed our new collection keeping in mind different body shapes, a collection that allows women more choices to flaunt their curves with comfort and be beach ready. Shooting the first collection, finding beautiful models with curves proved very difficult in the UAE, hence we have teamed up with Recto Verso Models who will help us find a curvy and unique model who would be the face of Blue Ink Beachwear’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection ” said Anisha Lalani, owner and designer of Blue Ink Beachwear.

Founders and Managing Partners Claire Gilbody and Jessica Massolin of Recto Verso Models explain, “We began two new segments in model portfolio - Curve and Unique. The Curve section takes a healthy approach to body image, featuring models size UK 12 and above, we wanted to break out into other areas that are uncommon here in the UAE as they are in Europe or the US.”

Recto Verso Models and Blue Ink Beachwear have joined forces and are looking for the most beautiful curvy girls in the UAE, with the goal of finding ‘the Face of Blue Ink 2016/2017’. The UAE boasts of over 7.8 million expats, with beauty available from around the world, the initiative invites them to be an example and be mentored by a representative from the Curve division; who is passionate about highlighting the challenging stigmas around curvy women and the outdated ultra-skinny trend in the fashion industry.

The model hunt is set to begin on 24th April with the final winner to be announced on 15th August. This will be a rigorous hunt to look for the perfect curve model who can represent Blue Ink Beachwear as a brand that is meant for confident and independent women. With this competition Blue Ink Beachwear hopes to set a trend in the UAE and garner a voice for a body positivity message.
