The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has accorded its strong support to the hosting of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) International Conference from May 6 to 9 by becoming its Cultural Sponsor.
The first-ever IIA International Conference on the UAE soil will take place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the participants from 110 countries. The UAE accounts for about 45 per cent of the total number of internal auditors working in the region, estimated at about 8,000 auditors, of whom 22 per cent are Emirati.
His Excellency Saeed Al Naboodah, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture, said the Authority is proud to be participating in the International Conference as the Cultural partner as it provides an interactive platform to showcase the rich Emirati culture and heritage besides promoting Dubai as a creative and sustainable global city for culture, heritage, arts and literature.
Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chairman of the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE-IAA), said preparations for the conference have been proceeding at a brisk pace to uphold UAE’s solid standing as a world-class MICE destination. We are fortunate to have Dubai Culture presenting special events that will showcase the UAE’s heritage and culture, giving a unique touch and flavor to the prestigious event which is the solid result of public-private sector cooperation.
Ayesha Bin Lootah, Board Member of the UAE-IAA and Chairperson of the Committee on Social and Entertainment Programs for the IIA International Conference, said “together with our partners we work towards one goal and as one team. With the support from our partners, we created a one of its kind integrated experience that includes more than just a business trip, but an educational, cultural, touristic, recreational, and entertainment journey in Dubai. We look at events, conferences and exhibitions that are taking place here from a comprehensive and far-sighted perspective as we look at The International Conference on Internal Audit as an important economic event for the Emirates and the region as a whole.”
