Perched 2,000 metres above sea level and located in the central section of the Al Hajar Mountains, Alila Jabal Akhdar offers a gateway to the area’s incredible nature, culture and history. Away from the rustle and bustle of modern life, join the resort this December for a celestial journey observing the glistening Geminids meteor shower.

From 4th to 16th December, Alila Jabal Akhdar is excited to welcome guest astronomer Mike Dalley as he hosts stargazing masterclasses leading up to and during the peak of the Geminid meteor shower. Mike, the CEO, Founder and Principal Astronomy Consultant of Inspiring Skies, will lead the stargazing experience as guests are offered an unforgettable opportunity to witness over 100+ shooting stars per hour. Caused by Asteroid 3200 Phaethon, the Geminids is unique in nature as the only meteor shower not to originate from a comet. With one shooting star streaming across the sky nearly every 30 seconds, guests will be able to witness a unique and complex celestial phenomenon, in an unparalleled setting.

Mike, who has mapped the stars with Hollywood icons such as Will Smith, will share his passion for astrology and use his extensive knowledge on the subject to bring this experience to life, allowing guests to discover the secrets of the skies. As a legendary astrophotographer, Mike will also teach guests how to capture the flashing stars from the Gemini Constellation and offering participants something to treasure, creating a physical memory of this out of this world experience.
