Startups are often referred to as the ‘growth engines’ for any economy. In the UAE, backed by a supportive regulatory framework that welcomes innovation at every stage, entrepreneurs from across an eclectic mix of sectors have achieved remarkable growth, in turn feeding the booming ecosystem to create a train of success stories.

Kelly Lundberg, one of the most diverse business entrepreneurs to have emerged out of the styling world in the Middle East to date has launched her new podcast, the Kelly Lundberg Podcast. The series of fireside talks uncovers storylines of success and profitability from women who trail-blaze and cause waves in their industry. Within just 2 weeks of launching, the Podcast has already reached the top 15 Podcasts in the UAE for Entrepreneurship, top 50 in the UK, top 40 in KSA with an all-time download in New Zealand and Ireland.

SMEs represent more than 94% of total companies in the UAE, employing over 86% of the private sector workforce (Ministry of Economy 2019). With such a crucial role in economic growth, Rayhan Aleem, founder of the accounting firm Alpha Pro Partners, is keen to help small business owners overcome one of the main problems that can lead to early closure: a lack of cashflow caused by late payments.

His Excellency Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, has visited in5, TECOM Group’s enabling platform for entrepreneurs and startups. During the visit, H.E was briefed by the in5’s leadership on the achievements of emerging startups and engaged in discussions around future opportunities to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the UAE, and establish the UAE's position as a talent hub.
