The Emirates Literature Foundation has today announced a new partnership with Jane Goodall’s Institute, to promote creative writing, engaging with literature and foster a deep understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals in children. Through the partnership, Jane Goodall’s Institute’s Roots & Shoots programme will be twinned with the Voices of Future Generations initiative, a creative writing competition under the patronage of UNESCO that encourages children to write adventure stories featuring sustainable themes. The two initiatives will create a virtuous chain of sustainability awareness and drive positive action.

To help tackle the prevailing challenge of access to potable water in remote communities of Madagascar, the UAE-driven humanitarian initiative; 20by2020, recently installed ‘Safe Water Cube’ fountains across five rural areas of the East African country, with the aim of improving the quality of life for approximately 8,500 people on a daily basis.

Two Sharjah-based non-profits, The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) and NAMA Women Advancement Establishment (NAMA) have combined their efforts to advocate for the rights of girls and women worldwide, to support a remote learning project in Nigeria benefiting up to 65,000 primary and secondary students, especially girls.
