Love is - quite literally - in the air with 52% of people in the UAE associating perfume and fragrance with love and romance, according to a recent YouGov survey undertaken by Rasasi, one of the UAE’s leading perfume houses.

Half of the women (50%) and men (53%) surveyed believe that scent is a key to romance, with 54% of Emiratis agreeing that they associate perfume and fragrance with feelings of love. The association was strongest amongst young people aged 25-29 (56%) and those aged 40 and over (55%).

The survey also found that perfume plays a significant part in boosting self-confidence, with 68% of respondents stating that perfume made them feel more self-assured and happy, including 66% of singles asked. So investing in a great scent could be the key for those seeking confidence when it comes to new romance.

Married couples also agreed that fragrance plays an important role in their relationship, with two thirds (66%) stating that they often wear perfumes that their spouses like. This sentiment is evenly split between men (54%) and women (56%).
