Calling all mango lovers! Mohalla, the popular homegrown Indian hotspot located in the heart of the lively Dubai Design District has introduced a new, refreshing menu for the summer with mango as the hero ingredient.

Known as the king of fruits in India, the arrival of mango marks the start of the summer in the Indian sub-continent, making mango season the most exciting part of Indian summer. Mango has a special place in every Indian household and during the summer months, it’s a common tradition for families to sit down in the evenings, cut ripe mangoes and savor them together, ladies of the neighboring household come together and prepare pickles, chutneys, murabbas and aam papad.

Lovers of mango need look no further than Mohalla, where Chef Adwait Anantwar and his culinary team have curated a special summer menu, adding five unique dishes using the delicious fruit to satisfy diners’ mango cravings.

Available for a limited time throughout the summer, the new mango-focused dishes include  Kairi Gosht, mutton dish cooked in a raw mango and coconut-based sauce, served with an equally delectable raw mango tempered rice. Inspired by Chef Adwait’s childhood trips to his friend’s farm in India where he would climb mango trees to pick fresh fruits for his grandmother to prepare in a mango curry with jackfruit, Kairi Gosht is a rendition of his grandmother’s dish with a perfect summer twist.

Another delicious summer dish is the Rava Fried Seabass, comprising pan-fried seabass fillet crusted in semolina and served with Indian pickling spiced mango confit and raw mango kachumber, for which Chef Adwait took inspiration from the pickles prepared in Indian households during the summer.

The menu also features Keema Samosa Chaat, a stuffed samosa with mutton keema smashed and topped with sweet yogurt, chutneys and raw mango.

For dessert, Chef Adwait created a delicious Mango Cake using fresh Alphonso mango layered with cream and biscuits that is not only rich in taste, but a must-have for diners with a sweet tooth. Finally, the Mango Pineapple Slushie with lime zest and a pinch of paprika blended with ice is the perfect refresher for the hot summer days.

With truly authentic Indian cuisine and a vibe that is unmatched, every corner of Mohalla feels like taking a stroll though the vibrant streets of India. Come relish the mango season with Mohalla!
